Short Big Eye

Today I brought out a bunch of spotfin butterfly fish to the tank. I caught them yesterday. I now have 3 large ones and I think 8 small ones. Our orange guy I identified as a Short Big Eye fish. I don't know what the silver one above is, if anyone knows please let me know. I also released the little skate today. I couldn't get it to eat anything even when I picked it up and put a little live crab in its mouth. Chris thinks that the tank isn't cold enough for him. I put him back into the ocean. I divided the tank to see if they get use to the acrylic wall. I want to divide it to keep the black sea bass from eating everything. I don't like the look of it and will probably remove it along with the black sea bass.
I tried to fix a leak in the multi-valve of the sand filter. The main gasket that seals the valve was leaking. I disconnected the filter, moved it out from under the nursery tank enclosure, and took it apart. I put some gasket sealer on it, this reduced the leak but not by much. I'm going to try it again and put on more sealer.
The whole lower school staff came by just before I was going to leave. They were rather impressed by the whole tank and had lots of questions for me. The 2nd grade teacher was very interested in how I collected everything. She's going to try to go seining with her class to collect stuff for their classroom tank. I'm going to try to help them get their tank running. A small tank should be a lot easier after doing this one.
